VR Painting Performance

Virtual Reality painting is a new form of digital art that allows the artists to step inside their artwork and paint all around them. EyeJack works with several VR artists including Sutu, who has earned a reputation for doing his paintings live at festivals such as Sundance and Pause Fest and venues such as the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI). Whilst painting, the artist point of view is data projected or shown on a large screen. For an audience watching on , seeing a 3D immersive artwork come together in realtime can be mesmerising. A simple VR painting could be created within 30 minutes, whereas a more complex painting can take several hours.

Please see the case study video below of a VR painting performance by Sutu at an ACMI event.
